This is a two-phase renovation for The School of the Art Institute of an existing 17-story hotel and athletic club into classrooms, computer and art laboratories, studios and faculty offices.
The floors shown here house studios and classrooms with state of the art media equipment, organized for maximum flexibility in a constantly shifting program.
The dominant elements in each space, ceilings at the classrooms and walls at the studios, are carefully detailed to articulate a simple and highly functional plan that maximizes available light and views.
